The strategies and activities developed herein are informed by DAN’s stated purpose and identity as promulgated in the statements that are reproduced below
Create trust and peaceful co-existence among Somali communities through job creation, intermingling and integration.
DAN envisages a self-reliant Somali people living in peace, justice and prosperity.

To promote sustainable food security and income generation through, food distribution, improved crop production, animal husbandry, infrastructure rehabilitation, cash-based livelihood interventions, improved markets and market chain linkages.
To strengthen the local, regional mediations and conflict resolution mechanisms thus reducing the number of active conflicts in Somalia
To enhance education and skill training opportunities for youth and adults and strengthen educational systems
To improve access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities and facilitate acceptable standards of humanitarian services for displaced persons and refugees and vulnerable host communities.
To advocate for responsible utilization and management of natural resources and environmental conservation.
To advocate for good governance, human rights protection and peaceful coexistence.
To conduct surveys and studies that will promote strategic planning and informed decision- making processes.
Development Action Network (DAN) Has undertaken the following Programmes and Activites in Somali
Due to the size of current funding, the geographical coverage of DAN is only confined to Banadir, Hirshabelle, Jubbaland, and Galmudug states of Somalia. Its growth strategies entail expanding to other regions of Southern states of Somalia and to the entire country in future.
